Plan Ahead, Monday, May 31, 2010

Reading: Proverbs 20:25, An impulsive vow is a trap; later you'll wish you could get out of it.

Today’s text was a surprise to find for me today. Tough one for me. I am, at times, just a little bit impulsive. Are you as well? If so, my friend, God wants to have a little chat with us.

God’s Word is clear; as believers, we are called to lead lives of discipline, diligence, moderation and maturity. But, the world at times often tempts us to behave otherwise. For men, it seems around every corner we are faced with powerful temptations to jump into worldly desires and ungodly ways.

Hold fast today. Gods’ Word instructs us to be disciplined in our thoughts and actions. God’s Word warns us against the dangers and consequences of impulsive behavior. As believers in a Heavenly Father, we should act accordingly.

An anonymous writer once said, “Plan ahead, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.”
