Reading: Luke 6:43-45, 43"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
There is a tree on our property that, currently, does not have any fruit on it and has not bore fruit since we have lived there. It definitely looks like a citrus tree but we are still not sure exactly what type of fruit tree we have. After pruning and caring for it, we are hoping that it will bear fruit next year. We are very curious as to what fruit it will bear. Oftentimes we are the same way, we look like a Christian but… bearing fruit? The interesting thing about fruit is it clearly defines, for others to see, exactly what type of tree it is, it’s food for others to receive nourishment and it also is part of the reproductive process. We were not made to simply exist… to be a tree that is growing, green and just keeping to itself. We were made to bear fruit.
With these three attributes in mind, what fruit will you bear today for Christ?
How can you live this out practically throughout your day?
