Chin Up!
Reading:John 16:13, “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.”
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide us. Do you work better when your supervisor is next to you or when He’s on vacation? It’s amazing how the presence affects the direction we take.
As men, when making decisions, we must make a stand. Our cry should be, “If Jesus can’t go with me than I’m not going. Listen carefully for God’s voice. It’s a still, small voice. It’s the voice inside of you that’s not you.
Tom Landry, a retired football coach who loved the Lord, was honored and adorned by his players. Listen to what his quarterback, Roger Staubach, had to say at Landry’s funeral.
“Coach Landry is the most quiet spoken man I’ve ever met. He would walk up and down the sidelines having soft spoken conversation with his players with seventy to eighty thousand fans going nuts. We didn’t miss a word.” “How did the players hear him,” the interviewer asked, “Well,” Roger responded, “It’s simple. We know this man. We practice with him everyday. We can recognize his voice above all the other noise.”
Jesus prompts us in the little everyday things. The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 37, “Be still and He will lift our hearts.”
Are you able to recognize God and His Spirit’s voice when He speaks to you, not necessarily audibly, but do you know it?
How and when will you take time to “Be still” and listen for God to speak to you?
End of the Day Review
