Easter’s Warrior
Reading: Mark 15
The Jewish people wanted Jesus to be their king who’s coming was prophesied. It was foretold that He would destroy their enemies and it happened right in front of them. They were calling for a king and they got one. They saw Him riding a donkey into the city as multitudes shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” He saw Himself as King, with crown on His head, on His white horse armored for battle, riding to the battlefield. He saw Himself turn His sword and fury on Death and, after a fierce battle, He laid on the ground after being knocked down by Death as Death now stood over Him in triumph and celebration for His apparent victory. They saw the empty tomb. He saw Himself pick up His sword as Death had finished his celebration and raised His sword to finish the job. As Death’s arms were raised with sword overhead, He saw Himself drive His sword into Death as Death dropped his sword, dropped to his knees and fell lifeless to the earth. As Jesus stood up, with sword in hand, Satan’s celebration with Death quickly ended. Satan
