Trust Him
Reading:Psalm 34:8, 22, 8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Especially in a society that seems to be getting more and more cynical as time goes on, trust is not necessarily easy to come by. We say that we trust the Lord but then a huge project comes up; a move, a project at work, a ministry opportunity, an unexpectedly large bill, and our shoulders tighten, our stomach tenses up and we feel the joy drain out of us. Sometimes we are excited about the project until things aren’t going our way, or the deadline is looming, or you realize that you may not be able to get it done. It’s difficult at that point to feel like you’re able to trust, especially when you are in the middle of something and you have lost trust for other people upon whom you were counting. So, to turn around and be at peace with the fact that you can trust God, is very difficult for many of us. Our thoughts tend to be something like, “Well, it’s not like God is going to come and help me do this”… but, is that true? Often, we didn’t invite Him into the project in the first place. He wants to be a part of everything. When you know that God is in what you are doing and you are including Him in the process, if the project becomes overbearing, you will at least have the peace of knowing that God has been in it the whole time and He hasn’t left just because it is getting difficult. Keep trusting! God only expects your best, through His strength, and He will do the rest. The final result may not be what you wanted but it most certainly will be what He intended. In that, you can trust! You may think, “Yeah, but my boss… or wife… or parents… don’t care about my best, they only care about the results.” That may be true but at the end of the day, is it about them or is it about tasting and seeing “that the Lord is good” and His promises to bless you, if you trust in Him? Be at peace… do your best… and He will do the rest! It is never too late to trust Him to do it!
