An Active Participant
Reading:Ephesians 1:23, The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
One way that we come to know God is by involving ourselves in His church. In the book of Acts, Luke reminds us to “feed the church of God” (20:28). As Christians, who have been saved by a loving God, we have been called to a ministry and a mission. A ministry is what we do inside the church. We are compelled not only to worship Him in our hearts but also to worship Him with other believers.
Do you feed the church? Do you attend regularly? Are you involved in your ministry? Are you actively feeding? The answer to these questions should have an impact on the quality and direction of your spiritual journey.
Do yourself a favor… become an active participant in your church. Don’t just go to church out of habit. Go to church out of a sincere desire to know and worship God. When you do, you’ll be blessed and you will fulfill the commission of blessing others. God went His Son to die so that you might have everlasting life, a life that is lived to the fullest.
Often we think the “feeding” of the church is solely the responsibility of the pastors and staff of the church, and, yes, they should definitely be feeding the church. But, it is each of our responsibility to feed into our Band of Brothers. There should not be a single Brother who is going hungry spiritually and we need to make sure of that.
How can you feed your Band of Brothers today?
What is God leading you to do within the church and how can you do it?
