Preach!

Reading: Romans 10:14, How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

What is your definition of a preacher and who would you consider being a preacher?

I was a freshman at a Christian college. When we went out on choir tour, we would sing at churches and, then, stay in people’s houses. I will never forget that year when my roommate and I climbed into the car of the older husband and wife that were taking us home. My roommate and I were a little surprised, when we were only a few miles down the road, the husband swore a couple of times and then drove us through the a university campus where he was a professor. When we arrived at the house, my roommate immediately got on the phone with his girlfriend, while I was left to fend for myself as I talked to this university professor who informed me that he combined all the religions in the world and that was his belief system. As a young freshman in college, I felt a little out of my league but I knew God promised that His Word will not return void. So, I sat up with him for a couple of hours and just shared Christ and the Bible with Him. The next day, as I boarded our bus, I asked for prayer for him and called my parents to ask them to pray for them. To be honest, I didn’t think there was a chance. The very next year, we happened to be in the exact same church. I began speaking with the youth pastor and told him that I will never forget what happened the last time. As I was describing the situation and the gentleman that I stayed with, he began describing him back to me. When I realize he knew who I was talking about, he said, “Well, since that time, he, his wife and his two college aged daughters have accepted Christ.” I was blown away and humbled by any way that God may have used me to bring that man to Himself. I learned a very valuable lesson. You may not think they will make a decision, you may not feel qualified, you may feel out of your league, but “how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard?”

Men, you are a preacher! You are! You have the truth… share it today.

REVIEW

With whom were you able to share the truth of the Word of God today?
