I Will Answer, Monday, December 27, 2010
Reading:Jeremiah 33:3, Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things that you do not know.
We have come a long ways in communication. To think that just over one hundred years ago, we were delivering messages via horseback, which could take weeks deliver. Then telegraphs came. Not too far behind that, telephones but, not everyone had one and you would have to go through a switch board to call someone. Then we fast forward to the present, where you can contact someone through “regular” mail, email, cell phone, text message or home phone. Take your pick. The strangest thing about that is, sometimes you get a hold of someone or get a response within about the same time as the old horseback days. You send an email and leave a voicemail and don’t get a response. You call a company and have to wait 45 minutes to actually get a response to your questions or concerns. Even with all the technological improvements, you may call, but actually getting an answer is not guaranteed any time soon, if ever. On the other hand, God guarantees an answer. The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Almighty God guarantees that if you call Him, He will answer you. But, God in all His glory doesn’t merely answer you. He promises to show you great and mighty things that you could never even dream of.
How often do you call to God in a day?
Be honest, are there times that you do not call out to Him, because you’re afraid of the answer that He may give you?
What are some areas or specific things that you will be calling to God about today?
Challenge:Call out to God today. Be looking for God’s answer and be conscious of the potential of God showing you great and mighty things. But, His answer and great and mighty things are the way that He knows is best. Be watching for His answer, not your answer.
