Reading: Exodus 3:4, 4:1 & 10, 4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, "Moses! Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am." 1 Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, 'The LORD did not appear to you'?" 10 Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
“O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Moses spoke those words when God was asking him to perform a miracle, and set his people free. God can use the most unexpected person to work for His good. About 8 years ago, I was in charge of a group of leaders for a youth camp. The base guitar player of the worship band asked our intercessor to pray for him so he could play at the service that night. With all of us together, we prayed as a group for him to get better. Jason, that was the “prayer guy’s” name, motioned for me to come over and lay hands on him and ask God for healing. I quickly reminded him that we brought HIM to do that kind of thing; I’m not the healing type. Out of obedience though, I did as he (or HE) asked and lay hands on him, and he was healed! God used a normal guy like me to work one of His great miracles.
What excuses do you use with God when He asks you to do his will?
Are you obedient when you feel the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart?
How have you placed God in a box of your inhabitations, fears and lack of faith?
What are you willing to do today to set aside your box and let God do His work through you?
REVIEW
How were you obedient to the Holy Spirit’s tugging at your heart today?
What did you do today to remove the box that you had placed God in and allowed Him to work through you?
