Reading: Isaiah 40:31, Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
The “P” word is scary. You don’t want to pray for it because you just might be given an opportunity to use it. I’m talking about patience. Last year my son and I were able to go to an archery range. I was amazed by how difficult it was. I missed the target much more than I hit it. My son, who is so much weaker than I am, was so much more patient, more precise, more accurate… Bull’s Eye!
Patience is more than endurance. For my faith is when I put my life in the hands of God. Like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something that I cannot see and he stretches and strains, and every now and then I say, “I cannot stand it anymore.” But, God does not stop. He goes on stretching until His purpose is in sight. Then, He let’s me fly… Bull’s Eye!
Trust your life in God’s hands today. He has done this many times before. Maintain your relationship with Christ by the patience of faith. Oswald Chambers said, “Though He slay me, yet will I wait for Him.”
What are some areas in your life that you are becoming impatient about and not wanting to wait on the Lord?
Are you able to trust His steady arm and focused gaze as he aims your life?
What steps can you take throughout the day to trust your life in God’s hands?
REVIEW
Were you successful today in surrendering your goals and desires to God?
How were you able to simply focus on your relationship with Christ, instead of concerning yourself with things that is capable of controlling?
