Work Ethic, Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Reading: Ephesians 6:5-8 5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

Have you ever had your boss come over and look over your shoulder as you work? Even if you are a hard worker or have good work ethic, it’s amazing how much you tend to work harder and faster. Today, imagine not just your boss, but God, is looking over your shoulder at your work. Perform your job and duty as if you were serving the Lord and performing for Him today.

What can you do today to remind yourself that God is looking over your shoulder and that you’re working for Him today?

How do you feel about your job and your boss? What are going to be some trip falls to distract you from performing for God today in your job or tasks?
