Shed Your Cares, Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Reading: I Peter 5:7, “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

I’m sure that you have either witnessed it or can imagine this happening. You see a woman or child struggling to carry all of the things that they are attempting to carry in one trip. You walk over and kindly offer to help. “No, no thank you. I’ve got it.” Typically, right after the response, several things fall out of their arms, crashing to the ground. Again, you offer to help them but they adamantly respond that they’ve “got it”. You really struggle with wanting to be a gentleman and help them. Can you imagine how God feels? He sees us struggling, trying to balance everything on our shoulders and in our arms? He attempts to remind you that He’s there. He lovingly tells you in His Word to cast on Him all of those things that you’re stressed over and burdened with, but we often say, “No, I’ve got it. Thank you, though.” Then there are some of us who hand our stress and cares over to Him for Him to carry; then, after a while, walk back over and take it back to carry again burdening ourselves with it again. Even though, when He was carrying it, you are easily able to see that He’s not struggling with it at all and your life is a lot easier.

What are your cares and burdens today, list them in detail?

How can you cast these cares and burdens on God right now and all throughout the day?

Challenge: All throughout today, cast ALL of your cares upon Him and leave them there.
