The Mission Field
Reading: I Peter 2:9, But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
Whether you realize it or not, you are on a personal mission for God. As a man following after Christ, that mission is straightforward: honor God, accept Christ as your personal Savior and serve God and His children.
You must never lose sight of the overwhelming purposes that God has established for you personally. You will encounter these overriding purposes again and again as you worship your Creator and study His Word. You are called to be the hero of your own arena. No one can take your place. You are the only one who has your exact sphere of influence.
Today, there are countless opportunities to serve God and worship Him in your arena. Your mission field is the places where God has chosen for you to be an overseer; your home, your job, your friends, your family, etc.
The great missionary, David Livingstone, once said, “God had an only Son and He made Him a missionary.
