Reading:Psalm 15:1-2, 1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? 2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart.”
This was Benjamin Franklin’s favorite Psalm. He called it the “Gentlemen’s Psalm”. David called it a “guideline for a blameless journey.”
The word “dwell” in verse number one, means intimate fellowship. Wow! Lord, how can I enjoy intimate fellowship with you? The Lord says to walk blameless, which means to walk with integrity. A definition of integrity is someone who keeps his oath even when it hurts.
How? How do we walk in integrity? The Lord give us the answer in the very next passage: Psalm 15:3, “He who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue.”
A man of integrity watches his mouth. He is careful with secrets and takes every word captive before they are used.
Is it possible? It is today… in you!
How will you captivate your words and be very careful how you let them out of your mouth today?
How will you be sure to speak the truth today? (Remember, speaking the truth is not ceasing from telling a lie, it is, what is truthful you are proclaiming.)
REVIEW
Did you succeed in captivating your mouth and words today?
How did you and how did you not?
How did this impact your day?
